We’re a father and son in Palm Desert. We take a few jobs at a time, and we still play.

Why this company

Most putting green installers don’t even play golf.

Our competitors can beat our price, but not our quality. We use only the highest quality of turf for our putting greens and landscape turf. The greens are infilled — they take longer to build — and we putt on them when they’re finished to ensure they perform as good as they look.

This is a small family business on purpose. A few projects at a time. When you call, you’re not in a queue. You’re talking to us.

Jeff Fairfield

PGA Tour · U.S. Open & PGA Championship

Jeff grew up in the game, first as Don’s son around Eldorado, then as a PGA Tour player of his own. He qualified for the 1989 U.S. Open and the 1993 PGA Championship, and won the 1992 Southern California PGA Section Championship.

He’s the owner you talk to, and the one who stays with the job. No receptionist, and nobody telling you someone will call you back. Playing professional golf taught him what a tournament green should look and perform like. This family business is where he puts that to work.

PGA Tour · three-time winner

Don played the PGA Tour in the 1950s and 1960s and won three times. After the Tour he became head professional at Eldorado Country Club in Indian Wells, a post he held from 1964 to 1997.

Thirty-plus years at one of the valley’s most prestigious clubs, and his Tour experience taught him what a putting green should perform like. He has spent a lifetime on the real thing and knows what he’s talking about.

How we work

We don’t try to be the cheapest. We try to build a green you’d want to putt on.

That starts with the turf — one grade, the highest we can buy. A denser, tighter knit so the ball sits up and rolls true.

A putting green needs contour: a ridge, a mound. Cups placed where a putt can actually be made — not a flat pancake of a green without character, with random cups scattered about.

When the green is finished, we putt on it to make sure it’s up to our standards and yours.
